Choosing a grandmother name can be fun and exciting. However, if you are choosing your own name do your best to not become too attached to it. The name you choose might easily change when grandchildren become old enough to talk and christen you with a name of their own making or change the name with an inability to pronounce it correctly. For example, Grams and Grampa could easily end up becoming Bam and Bampa. Most grandmothers typically embrace with joy whatever name comes from the lips of their grandchildren. Also, you should take into account what the parents of your grandchildren may want. They may be looking forward to a traditional name. Mine were. And, in addition to the wonderful list in the first answer, grandchildren may come up with their own in a different way. One grandma told me her grandson calls her "Hotshot" because that’s what she always greeted him with when she saw him:)
