After doing a little research I was able to find out that Alzheimer’s disease is classified a progressive, degenerative disease that effects brain cells, causing them to die over time. At this time there is no cure to stop the progression, and as a result the entire body does eventually shut down. Now, while Alzheimer’s will eventually cause the body and brain to shut down, it is usually a secondary infection, such as pneumonia, that cause death.
